Halder Venture Limited
September 22, 2025
The way we eat is not just about nourishment; it’s also about the planet. Every grain, vegetable, or oil that reaches our plate carries an unseen environmental cost: the energy required to grow and process, the water needed to sustain crops, the fuel used for transportation, and the emissions that impact our air. The food industry is one of the largest contributors to global environmental change. But the good news is that small, conscious choices when multiplied, can create a powerful positive impact.
Across the globe, food systems account for a significant share of greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption, and waste generation. Choosing locally sourced food, opting for minimal packaging, reducing food waste, and supporting responsible brands are practical steps every consumer can take.
Halder Venture Limited has built its processing systems around a zero-wastage approach. Broken rice is converted into ethanol and food products, rice husk is used as a renewable energy source with its ash repurposed for bricks and cement, while rice bran becomes nutrient-rich oil and dietary supplements. Even rejected rice is given a purpose as livestock feed. This circular model ensures that no part of the grain is wasted and that value is created at every stage.
Energy efficiency is one of the cornerstones of sustainable food production. Automation, renewable energy, and careful monitoring help industries across the world cut down on emissions and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
To strengthen this commitment, Halder Venture Limited has adopted Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Variable Speed Drives (VSDs). These systems reduce idle power use, allow machinery to run only when needed, and lower energy consumption by up to 6%.
Air purification is another vital area. During milling, husks used as fuel release smoke and impurities. At Halder Venture Limited, a multi-stage purification system ensures that this air is thoroughly filtered. From Air Preheaters (APH) to cyclomax combustion and bag filtration, each stage removes harmful particles like silica, carbon, and ash before the air is released, protecting both people and the environment.
Water is one of the most precious natural resources, and food industries worldwide are rethinking how to use it responsibly. Recycling and reuse are now essential to reduce waste and preserve freshwater for future generations.
Within its facilities, Halder Venture Limited recycles 100% of the water consumed during production. Around 30% is reused for industrial operations, while the remainder supports irrigation in nearby farms. Advanced Effluent Treatment Plants (ETPs) treat wastewater through multiple stages of cooling, neutralisation, filtration, and purification before it is safely reused or released into agricultural fields. This system protects natural water reserves, supports farmers, and prevents pollution.
Globally, poor hygiene in food processing leads to contamination, spoilage, and unnecessary food waste. Ensuring clean, safe environments is as important as sustainable use of resources.
To address this, Halder Venture Limited has installed marble flooring across its production units. Unlike porous cement, marble resists bacterial growth, is easier to clean, and helps maintain a hygienic environment for grain processing. This reduces the risk of contamination, keeps food safe, and minimises wastage caused by spoilage.
Supporting local production reduces the carbon footprint of long-distance transportation while creating resilient regional economies. Around the world, consumers are increasingly choosing local and traceable food to reduce environmental impact.
Halder Venture Limited is firmly rooted in India’s agri-food landscape, yet its operations adhere to international standards in processing, packaging, and sustainability. By combining local roots with global benchmarks, the company reduces transport emissions while ensuring that consumers receive food that is responsibly produced and globally competitive.
Every individual can make a difference by supporting clean-label products, reducing food waste, and buying from brands that prioritise sustainability. These choices, multiplied across millions of households, can shift the balance toward a healthier planet.
Halder Venture Limited is committed to making such choices easier for consumers. From zero-waste processing and water recycling to energy-efficient operations and hygienic facilities, every step is designed to align food production with environmental responsibility.
When you eat right, you help the planet breathe easier. For Halder Venture Limited, the commitment goes beyond providing safe and nutritious food it is a promise to act responsibly, honour the environment, and create long-term value. Together, through mindful consumption and sustainable production, we can build a cleaner, more conscious future.
